Strength Training Tips


Here are few important tips when strength training:

  • The key is to fatigue the muscle thus causing overload that leads to adaptation. Try to get to the point where the muscle reaches momentary muscular failure. When you do so, you have succeeded and it isn’t always necessary to do multiple sets.
  • Use the correct technique. Not only is it safer but you may be working the wrong muscles if your technique is not correct.
  • In most cases slower speeds are better. Again it’s safer and the momentum created when speeding things up is not doing all the work.
  • Machines are great to isolate specific muscles and free weights are great for working all the stabilizing muscles as well. For a well rounded program combine weight machines and free weights.
